Bodmin, Cornwall: Katie Nottle and Dariusz Zwiercyzk

CONVICTED (2019) | Katie Nottle, born 31/10/1994, and Dariusz Zwiercyzk, born c. 1975, both of Wallace Road, Bodmin PL31 – left their flea-infested cat to suffer with sores on his head and neck.

Nottle and Zwiercyzk admitted causing unnecessary suffering to the cat named Tigger, who was found with scabs and sores on his head and neck as well as being infested with fleas.

RSPCA Inspector Claire Ryder said: “Sadly Tigger was left to suffer and had painful scabs and sores on his head and neck, which could have easily been avoided by seeking suitable veterinary care.

“Pet owners have a responsibility to address any health conditions – animals can’t help themselves and are reliant on their owners to provide the care they need.

“Anyone who has concerns about the health of their pet should ask for help and advice to avoid unnecessary distress and suffering being caused”

Sentencing | total of £120 each in costs and charges. Banned from keeping animals for seven years (expires March 2026).
