#MostEvil | Martin Stewart, born c. 1988, of Rokeby Crescent, Strathaven ML10 6EG – put a dog in a headlock, hanged him from a door handle and stabbed him twice in the abdomen with a knife
Twisted Martin Stewart, a musician in a band called Another Filthy Weekend as well as a hairdresser and personal trainer, carried out the horrific attack on his partner Kelly Steedman’s Labrador, Fergus.
The brute pleaded guilty to threatening and abusive behaviour and causing the dog unnecessary suffering and assault.
The court heard how Fergus survived the ordeal after receiving emergency treatment following the bloodbath.
Depute fiscal Jennifer Cunningham said: “On the day libelled both parties retired to bed after being outside for the NHS clap and were in the company of pet dog Fergus.
“Both the accused and the complainer fell asleep and at some point she woke up and went downstairs.
“While she was downstairs she heard a squealing noise and ran back upstairs and found the accused with the pet dog in a headlock.
“He was applying pressure to the dog’s neck and described the dog’s eyes as rolling to the back of its head. She attempted to pull the dog away from the accused and break his grip.
“The dog ran from the room but she was unable to calm the accused who ran downstairs and put a dog chain around its neck and tied the other end on the handle of the front door.
“He then pulled the chain to the ground resulting in the dog being lifted off the ground and suspended by its neck.
“The witness placed her arms under the dog in a bid to release the pressure while screaming for him to stop what he was doing and noted the dog was choking.”
Miss Cunningham added: “She opened the door and went outside to phone 999 but saw the accused with a kitchen knife stab the dog twice in the abdomen.
“The witness intervened and attempted to wrestle the knife from the accused but the accused then stabbed himself in the neck.”
The prosecutor also told how when police arrived Stewart told them “I’m God. I’m being commanded to kill you, you have come here to die demon” before making threats and lashing out at them.
Hairdresser Kelly Steedman is standing by Stewart despite him almost killing her dog. She even lodged a letter of support with the court.
Stewart’s lawyer said his client was examined by a psychiatrist and was found fit to plead to the charges.
After studying a criminal justice social work report, Sheriff Thomas Millar told Stewart: “This was a bizarre episode.
“You have made good progress addressing your issues since, but I want to ensure that continues through an extended period of supervision.”
Sentencing: two-year supervision order and no ban or deprivation order for Fergus.
Hairdresser Kelly Steedman is standing by Stewart despite him almost killing her dog.
She is obviously Not Safe With This Person, she needs to sleep with her eyes open. It is only a matter of time before He Strikes Again. He Is Mentally Unstable and Not Safe Around Anything.
He Belongs In A Mental Asylum. All we can hope is: The Magistrates or The Judge, sorts something out along these lines.
Another thing to think of, if there are possibly Children Involved.

Did you not see the psychological assessment finding him fit to attend Court? That means psychologically fit, Full mental aptitude. Fully aware of right and wrong. The scene with the Police may have been to try and pull a ‘mental health’ card, a qualified Psychologist has found that not to be the case. Related to drugs/alcohol, entirely possible but again that would tend to me a miniscule excuse for what was an extraordinary temper tantrum for someone who appears to think he is more important/entitled than he is. He is not Ozzy Osbourne, he is a nobody and for the record i work with people with drug, alcohol & mental health issues !

I agree with the above comment, by Maria Davies, he’s very dangerous and unstable, and if the woman hadn’t been there that poor dog would now be dead, who’s to say he won’t go for her next, I hope he’s locked up in a secure unit, and the dog is now rehomed, I wonder if she would have stood by him if that had been a child he’d attacked 🤔

As an old friend of Martin’s I would like to inform you that you all have been misinformed.
I cannot criticise you for feeling horrified towards the above article, however, I feel obligated to say that the writer of this article has not considered or cared to contemplate that there may be aspects of the ordeal that they do not know or understand.
This article only serves to further and add to the suffering and pain that both Martin Stewart and Kelly Steedman will be experiencing.
The author has chosen to take a seemingly criminal story and callously give their interpretation of a delicate case that they understand nothing of and in so doing, they have slandered a man and woman to achieve what?
To give people something to talk about? To encourage those such as, the commenters, to further slander someone they do not know, about a case they do not fully understand? Maybe it has been published simply for click bait. Maybe someone is profiteering. Sadly, we find ourselves in a world driven by the apathy, hate and ignorance of a moronic media, where the latter is the most likely reason for such an insensitive display of atrocious misinformation.
In the future, I hope that the author of this article and its commenters will think twice before broadcasting anything that they do not fully understand, especially when it comes to ones private life and the effect that media misinformation can bestow upon ones life.
Aside from adding a few factual details, we haven’t embellished the information contained in the source article at all. If there is any “misinformation”, you’ll need to take this up with The Sun. Any “pain and suffering” felt by this man and his idiot partner will be a tiny fraction of that experienced by the defenceless dog he attacked. He has ruined his own life through his vile actions, no one else to blame but his useless self.

Either way there is no defence or excuse for his horrendous behaviour, otherwise it would of been provided as a legal defence. Guilty as a conviction proves there was no legal defence.

If you are such an old friend and know him- I’m surprised you didn’t intervene earlier and prevent this. Go back to your tea and tissues approach. He seems well enough to function in a band and apparently has work, well enough to be in a relationship, take selfie’s and looks quite smart. Clearly he has insight into ‘ normal life. If he is your friend, Alison Grey-then I hope you made an error writing it, it should have been in past tense. I would want to have NOTHING to do with individual who does that to life that cannot defend itself. What’s more he made sure that dog will not run away again so he can inflict wounds to that poor dog. He will do more damage if he isn’t dealt with. He needs to be in secure mental institution. As for his partner, is she blind? Or so naive? I hope dog is re-homed and if there’re kids ,she should take them away while she can and get restraining order against him.
