CONVICTED (2024) | Marzena Klimek, born c. 1982, and Zbigniew Puziak, born c. 1965, of 57 Rose Avenue, Tolladine, Worcester WR4 9PX – inflicted multiple non-accidental injuries on a Doberman and failed to take the wounded animal to a vet for treatment.
Polish nationals Klimek and Puziak were found guilty of causing unnecessary suffering to a a Doberman called Jack.
The couple, who are also backyard breeders, denied causing suffering to Jack by a failure to act, ‘namely failing to prevent the infliction of multiple non accidental injuries’.
They were also convicted of failing to provide the animal with ‘proper veterinary care and attention in a timely manner for his multiple injuries’.
The animal cruelty offences occurred between February 17 and February 26, 2022.
Jack survived and will now be passed into the care of the RSPCA.
Sentencing | 12-week custodial for each offence to be served concurrently and suspended for 12 months; 140 hours of unpaid work over 12 months. £2,000 costs and £154 victim surcharge. Lifetime ban but may appeal after just five years.
