CONVICTED (2024) | Joshua Heard, born c. 1997, of 12 Sickert Close, St Julians, Newport NP19 7PJ – punched and hit two dogs.
Heard, who is well-known to local police, pleaded guilty to a number of offences following an alcohol-fuelled incident on June 29, 2024.
Heard admitted causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal in relation to the two unnamed dogs, assault by beating, assaulting a police officer, criminal damage and a public order offence.
Sentencing | two-year community order with 35-day rehabilitation activity requirement; alcohol treatment and monitoring requirement; £185 in compensation and costs. Two-year ban on keeping animals (expires July 2026).
