CONVICTED (2024) | Toni O’Neill, born May 1990, of Strathroy Park, Ardoyne, north Belfast BT14 7LP – left a cat unattended and without food and water for at least 72 hours.

In June 2024, Belfast City Council received complaints that a cat had been left unattended at O’Neill’s home for several days.

Animal welfare officers entered the property under warrant and seized an underweight cat with no proper access to food and water.

The unnamed cat was taken for examination by a veterinarian who determined that he was suffering from malnutrition.

The fate of the cat was not reported.

Sentencing | four-month prison sentence suspended for one year; legal and other costs totalling £181. Disqualified from owning animals for just two years (expires August 2026).
